Durham is the name of a shorthorn breed of cattle cultivated in England in the 18th Century. However, the city of Durham, which was the original site for this model plan, was not named for the cattle, it was named for Dr. Bartlett Leonidas Durham who donated 4 of his 100 acres to the railroad to build a station. (It is believed he raised Durham cattle.) The town that grew around this hub was named after the doctor. This 2 story Craftsman house plan was designed for a narrow lot. What makes it unique is the two master bedroom suites, one on each floor with an additional 2 bedrooms. It offers an oversized one-car garage that could be easily modified to a larger detached garage behind the house. The third-floor attic can be finished for a fifth bedroom and an additional full bath. The main house is ideal for a narrow lot, just 24 ft. wide.
