Inspired by small family spaces that are growing in popularity, this 2 bedroom house plan has a second story loft that can be used as a third bedroom. We call it Ingalls in tribute to Laura Ingalls Wilder, the American writer known for the children’s book series, “Little House on the Prairie”. Recalling the prairie house of the Ingalls family, this small house plan could fit into many neighborhoods as a starter home for a young family, or an empty nester plan for the simple senior lifestyle. There are two master bedrooms on the first floor and an open loft on the second that overlooks the family living space below, undivided by any walls from front door to back door. The fireplace is as important a feature in our Ingalls model plan as it was in the original “Little House on the Prairie” home of that American pioneer family. Large porches front and back invite connection to the neighborhood for the small house, 1800 Sq Ft. An optional bedroom #3 with an optional bath upstairs can be provided with a modification.
